Join the National Day of Action for NIH
Join us today in asking Congress to invest in medical research!
Children's Cancer Cause is proud to join the Rally for Medical Research Hill Day to advocate for medical research funding - and we invite you to take part in this national day of action.
Research funded through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) means hope for millions of patients and their families who are affected by hundreds of diseases, including childhood cancers. Robust, predictable, and sustained funding for NIH is an investment necessary to pursue our nation’s commitment to lifesaving treatments and sustain our global leadership in medical research.
We deeply appreciate the Senate Appropriation Committee's bipartisan bill that preserves funding for medical research and reverses cuts proposed by the House of Representatives. Children's Cancer Cause and our partners in the medical research advocacy community joined together in recommending $51 billion for the NIH for fiscal year (FY) 2024.
Today we call on Congress to provide the highest possible appropriation increase for NIH and ensure that the funding provided is at least at the Senate's funding level of $49.22 billion.
We're also urging House and Senate leadership to complete work on FY 2024 spending bills as quickly as possible in order to avoid delays and disruptions caused by continuing resolutions.
