Alliance for Childhood Cancer Action Days 2025

We're joining together with over 350 advocates from all around the country this week for the 15th Annual Alliance for Childhood Cancer Action Days

The energy and passion of these advocates is so inspiring, as we mobilize together to ensure that lawmakers understand the urgent need to prioritize children with cancer. Please join us from home in asking Congress to make key investments in research and take action on our community's policy priorities at the first available legislative opportunity.

Specifically, here's what Alliance advocates will be asking for in these meetings on Capitol Hill:

  • Cosponsoring the Give Kids a Chance Act of 2025 (H.R. 1262), comprehensive legislation that aims to remove barriers in pediatric drug development and speed therapies to children who need them by incentivizing pediatric research and making needed changes to pediatric drug laws;

  • Cosponsoring the Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act (H.R. 1509), a bipartisan bill that improves access to specialized care for children with complex medical needs by removing bureaucratic red tape from Medicaid;

  • Protecting Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which play a critical role in ensuring that children with cancer have timely access to quality, uninterrupted care; and

  • Supporting continued, uninterrupted childhood cancer research through a budget that includes strong funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), including full funding of the Childhood Cancer STAR Act and the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative. We also emphasize that any changes to NIH policy considered by the Administration or Congress must ensure children and their families aren’t harmed.
