5 Reasons a Donation to Children’s Cancer Cause is the Perfect Holiday Gift for 2020
A meaningful gift that can make a big difference for children with cancer.
While 2020 has some of us feeling more disconnected than ever, you still want to give those in your life a meaningful holiday gift. There are few gifts that could be as impactful as one made to Children’s Cancer Cause this holiday season.
If you still need convincing, here are 5 of many reasons to make a tax-deductible, year-end gift to Children’s Cancer Cause:
5. Your support helps us launch new programs, like the brand new Stewart Initiative, aimed at empowering, educating, and connecting the nation's 500,000 childhood cancer survivors. Your donation will help us successfully promote this program to adolescent and young adult survivors in the new year.
4. During this peak in the pandemic, making a tribute gift to Children’s Cancer Cause is a safe and contactless way to honor or remember a loved one or special friend. When making your tribute gift, you will have the opportunity to write a heartfelt message to your honoree. We’ll mail a card or send an email - your choice - letting them know of your generosity.
3. Lift up your spirits when you lift up our work. The old adage is true - it’s better to give than to receive! Research shows that generous people are happiest. Plus, we truly can’t do our work with your critical support. Our mission is to reach a day when every child with cancer can live a long and healthy life — and that’s something to feel warm and fuzzy about!
2. Your support could help us grant an additional scholarship to a cancer survivor! In 2020, we awarded a record-breaking number of scholarships to childhood cancer survivors through our College Scholars Program. Early in the new year, we’ll begin deciding how many scholarships we can award in 2021 - a decision that may be driven, in part, by the strength of our year-end fundraising campaign. You can join our Scholar Boosters today.
1. Children with cancer need us now more than ever. As if a cancer diagnosis isn't devastating enough, navigating it during COVID-19 has proven exceptionally challenging.
As Micah's mom put it: "We cannot meet in person for Micah's doctors' appointments. We have video appointments now. He hasn't been in the office for height and weight checks, which are important to follow his growth. We've also had delays on hearing aid appointments, needed as he has hearing loss due to chemotherapy."
