2022 Scholarship Application
Deadline to Apply: March 15, 2022
We at Children’s Cancer Cause are pleased to again offer academic scholarships for childhood cancer survivors, plus the opportunity to gain valuable cancer advocacy experience. In 2022, we will award up to ten survivors with scholarships ranging from $1,000-$4,000.
This is the fifth year of our College Scholars Program, which includes a childhood cancer volunteer project of the scholar’s choice. These projects should be advocacy-oriented and something you are able to complete within one year of selection as a College Scholar. A fundraiser is not an eligible project. Your creativity is encouraged, and you’ll receive mentorship and support from our team as you undertake your chosen volunteer project.
You may find it helpful to read about the projects chosen by prior award recipients: 2021 Scholars / Program Alumni. Examples include organizing a childhood cancer awareness event in your hometown or on campus, mobilizing other students in a letter-writing campaign to lawmakers, or launching a survivorship podcast.
To be eligible for consideration, you must be:
A resident of the United States;
A pediatric cancer survivor (those in active treatment are also eligible); and
Pursuing post-secondary education (including trade school, community college, or certificate programs).
If you are selected for a scholarship, you’ll be required to provide the following prior to the release of your prize funds:
2-3 photos of yourself;
A brief video (2-3 minutes) sharing your cancer story;
Documentation of your cancer diagnosis from a treating physician or institution, to verify your status as a cancer survivor;
Most recent high school or college transcript, to verify your GPA; and
Timeline goals toward completion of your volunteer project.
